Odessa Regional Medical Center was founded in 1975 by 14 obstetricians, pediatricians, and family practitioners as Odessa Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Through the years, the hospital grew and evolved into a full-service healthcare facility and the name was changed to Odessa Regional Hospital in 1995.
In June 2007, Odessa Regional Hospital purchased Alliance Hospital and changed its name to Odessa Regional Medical Center to reflect its larger campus and more comprehensive services. In 2015, ORMC acquired Basin Healthcare Center. The hospital has 225 beds and has approximately 250 physicians on staff and has over 700 employees.
Today, ORMC offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including advanced diagnostic imaging technology, emergency care, innovative surgical procedures, maternity care, comprehensive cardiac services and general medical care.
About the Shift:
Full Time RN 8am - 5pm
About the Position:
Stroke / Chest Pain Center Coordinator provides leadership to all entities participating in the stroke and cardiac service lines to promote excellence in the care of the stroke patients and cardiac patients. The individual will serve as and: expert clinician and patient advocater. The Coordinator will practice in a collegial relationship with physicians, nursing peers, and other professionals to enhance patient care and the health care environment. The Coordinator will participate in organizational and community initiatives to improve the professional practice of nursing and quality of patient care and outcomes. Other duties as assigned.
- Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.
- Membership in Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care within 6 months of hire.
- Prefer Certified Cardiovascular Care Coordinator.
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical practice, prefer direct care of the Stroke and/or ACS patient.
- Eight hours stroke education annually.
- Certifications as indicated by the Steward Certification document.
