Job Description

The Chief Nursing Officer has the authority and responsibility for establishing standards of nursing practice and the responsibility for the operation of patient care services.  This position interacts with senior management, the medical staff, hospital managers, hospital staff, patients, and the Board of Directors. 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Overseeing daily operations of nursing and clinical operations

  • Implementing Strategic and budget initiatives

  • Driving quality improvement

  • Planning and problem solving

  • Ensuring compliance with licensing and regulatory agency requirements

  • Developing future leaders


  • Master's Degree in nursing.

  • Current license of Registered Nurse in Texas or licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Texas licensure by endorsement.

  • Work experience as a CNO in a for profit hospital setting preferred; minimum of 5 years work experience at the Director level in a for profit hospital setting required.
