Odessa Regional Medical Center was founded in 1975 as Odessa Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Through the years, the hospital grew and evolved into a full-service healthcare facility and the name was changed to Odessa Regional Medical Center to reflect its larger campus and more comprehensive services. The hospital has 225 beds and has approximately 250 physicians on staff and has over 700 employees.

Today, ORMC offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including advanced diagnostic imaging technology, emergency care, innovative surgical procedures, maternity care, comprehensive cardiac services and general medical care.

About the Position:

The DSRIP LVN will serve in a multi-faceted role within the DSRIP (Community Health Center) department utilizing the entire scope of practice for an LVN. DSRIP LVN also acts as a facilitator for follow-up and guidance into self-management wellness programs as well as resource identification for improved patient outcomes. This position communicates with other members of the DSRIP team relative to information flow, referrals, clinical inquiries and scheduling. Position plays an active role in post-discharge follow-up from Inpatient and ED departments. The overall objectives are to support self-care behaviors, problem solving, and informed decision-making by the patient and improve clinical outcomes, health status, and quality of life through active collaboration with the healthcare team. DSRIP LVN uses EMR and other programs to monitor visit counts, maintain accurate patient logs and spreadsheets, complete follow-up communication and complete required documentation for billing. Participation in Healthfairs and patient education courses requires an employee available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and some Saturdays.

Regulatory Requirements:

  • Graduate of accreditated Licensed Vocational Nursing school;

Position Qualifications:

  • Current licensure in Texas as: LVN
  • Certifications as indicated by the Steward Certification document.
  • Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office (emphasis in Excel) and computer usage
  • Some travel required as we cover our 16 county Region
