About ORMC:

Odessa Regional Medical Center was founded in 1975 by 14 obstetricians, pediatricians, and family practitioners as Odessa Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Through the years, the hospital grew and evolved into a full-service healthcare facility and the name was changed to Odessa Regional Hospital in 1995.

In June 2007, Odessa Regional Hospital purchased Alliance Hospital and changed its name to Odessa Regional Medical Center to reflect its larger campus and more comprehensive services. In 2015, ORMC acquired Basin Healthcare Center. The hospital has 225 beds and has approximately 250 physicians on staff and has over 700 employees.

Today, ORMC offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including advanced diagnostic imaging technology, emergency care, innovative surgical procedures, maternity care, comprehensive cardiac services and general medical care.

About the position:

Participates in Performance Improvement activities. Provides service to age range from neonate to geriatrics. Performs diagnostic testing on both inpatient and outpatient basis to include 2 D/M Mode to Doppler, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), stress testing, arterial doppler, venous dopplers, Pharmacologic echo/nuclear studies, contrast echos, cardiac stress testing, EKG s, Holter monitoring/scanning on all ages and EEG Studies. Assists physician in the performance of exercise stress testing (all modalities from initial hookup through recovery phase of testing),,and will identify and document ectopic rhythms observed during testing. Has the jnowledge or will to learn to perform all aspects of holter monitoring from initial hookup though scanning and generation of reports. Serves as a liaison between patients, interpreting physicians (Cardiologists) and referring physicians; explains testing procedures to patient; ensures that emergent exam results are relayed promptly to the appropriate physician or medical floor. Call is required and must be able to respond to the hospital within 30 mins.

Regulatory Requirements:

High school graduate;

Associates degree is preferred, but not required

Successful EKG Interpretation course completion

Prefer specific experience and training in Ultrasound.

Current BCLS certification

Successful completion of basic cardiac orientation

Stroke/chest pain training- Recommended

Recommended Language Skills: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages preferred.

Moderate written and verbal skills.

Skills: Basic computer knowledge. Ability to use EKG and Holter monitors, Event Monitors, Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors, Cardiac Stress Test.
