Inventory Analyst - Central Supply Full Time
Odessa Regional Medical Center was founded in 1975 by 14 obstetricians, pediatricians, and family practitioners as Odessa Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Through the years, the hospital grew and evolved into a full-service healthcare facility and the name was changed to Odessa Regional Hospital in 1995.
In June 2007, Odessa Regional Hospital purchased Alliance Hospital and changed its name to Odessa Regional Medical Center to reflect its larger campus and more comprehensive services. In 2015, ORMC acquired Basin Healthcare Center. The hospital has 225 beds and has approximately 250 physicians on staff and has over 700 employees.
Today, ORMC offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including advanced diagnostic imaging technology, emergency care, innovative surgical procedures, maternity care, comprehensive cardiac services and general medical care.
About the Shift:
Monday - Friday 8:00-5:00pm - Full Time with some light on-call requirements - Benefit Eligible
About the Position:
Responsible for keeping the Surgical Services Inventory Department clean and organized and free from expired product. Orders all special order inventory and PAR level supplies utilizing the electronic inventory management system. Keeps Director informed of cost savings activities and opportunities. Maintains adequate levels of supplies without creating surpluses. Manages all inventory records in and efficient and organized manner. Participates in the department's performance improvement activities.
Interfaces directly with department managers in relation to procurement to establish specification and need.
Researches GPO Compliance and requests item/charge numbers for new product utilizing the appropriate worksheet.
Purchase order and invoice reconciliation for implants hospital-wide.
Development of all Materials Management staff and onboarding of all new employees.
Assists the Materials Management Director with the monthly Value Analysis Meeting and all cross conversion to achieve contract compliance.
Acts as Assistant Purchasing Manager when needed.
Conducts Lawson training for ordering personnel hospital-wide.
Trained in navigating and using SC01.
Review backorders and assists in finding on contracted vendors and facilitates an order for the alternate product.
Communicates backorders, out of stocks to Director of Materials Management, Department Director, and or any Department personnel when assisting with order placement, and lists items with alternative solutions.
Act as department representative for the Culture of Patient Safety Committee.
Prepare, manage and conduct Inventory in the Operation Room and assist with Inventory Sheets for any location throughout the facility specified by Materials Director.
Keeps accurate records of all consignment inventory within the facility and refers to implant log regularly to identify any used stock.
Manages bone certifications for the facility.
Seeks cost savings opportunities by assisting Departments with standardization.
Requires minimal supervision in performance of job duties; is a self-starter.
Works with all sales representatives to ensure price competition and accuracy are achieved.
Coordinates the addition of new inventory for all departments.
Always informs Materials Director when leaving the department.
Observes safety precautions at all times; uses protective wear, gloves, goggles; uses proper body mechanics.
