The service specialty coder/biller possesses extensive clinical training and experience as well as expertise as a certified coder. The coder, complimented with clinical knowledge and understanding of the complexity of assigned department and its workflow, enhances the potential to prevent loss of revenue, optimize charge capture, and adhere to compliance issues. Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM/CPT-4 diagnostic and procedural codes for designated service lines for data retrieval, billing, and reimbursement. Documentation assessment and review for accurate abstracting of clinical data to meet regulatory and compliance requirements. Works as the Biller for the IVF clinic as well. Responsible for entering charge and diagnosis codes into billing system, verification of patient insurance coverage, scheduling patient appointments, collecting co-pays and percentages, making deposits, recording and reporting billing and financial data, ordering and maintaining supplies, filing and maintaining patient records, assisting receptionist with answering and routing phone calls and taking messages, and is cross trained to perform receptionist
2-5 years outpatient care ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding experience.
Knowledge of charging and billing processes
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
Additional languages preferred.
Communication, good verbal skills, good writing skills, maintains filing systems, maintain logs, and use computer packages to
prepare graphics, use desktop publishing software, office automation experience
