Odessa Regional Medical Center was founded in 1975 as Odessa Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Through the years, the hospital grew and evolved into a full-service healthcare facility and the name was changed to Odessa Regional Medical Center to reflect its larger campus and more comprehensive services. The hospital has 225 beds and has approximately 250 physicians on staff and has over 700 employees.
Today, ORMC offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including advanced diagnostic imaging technology, emergency care, innovative surgical procedures, maternity care, comprehensive cardiac services and general medical care.
The Patient Navigator will serve in a multi-faceted role within the Orthopedic Services Department. This position communicates with other members of the Orthopedic team relative to patient education with direct communication and through joint care / orthropedic seminars, scheduling for procedures, information flow, Insurance approvals, referrals, clinical inquiries and scheduling. Position plays an active role in post-discharge follow-up from hospital and rehab services. Participates in Performance Improvement activities. monitors visit counts, maintains accurate logs and spreadsheets and completes follow-up communications. Position assists in aspects of community health services including: referral process, coordination of discharge needs and cost effective care and treatment processes. Other duties as assigned.
- Current Unincumbered State RN license
- 3 years experience working with patient navigation preferred but not required
- Certifications as indicated by the Steward Certification document.
