RN-E R Department(PRN)
Provides professional nursing care within the Emergency Department; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs of patients, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with ED physicians regarding changes in patient's status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides service to age range from neonate to Adult. Additional functions applicable when acting as charge nurses: Authority to make patient care assignments based upon the skill, experience, and temperament of other nursing personnel and on the acuity of the patients, ensuring patient and staff safety, assist in evaluation of unit and agency staff. To responsibly direct and precept staff members as needed in all aspects of patient care and management. To participate I quality improvement during all phases from planning to implementing and sustaining efforts, including taking corrective action if other employees fail to carry out delegated duties. Position is Days must be able to work 12 hour days.
· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one year registered nurse experience within the last 48 months and 18 months of acute/critical care experience preferred.
· Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice.
· Current BCLS Certification.
· ACLS certified within six (6) months of hire.
· PALS within six (6) months of hire.
· TNCC within one (1) year of hire.
· ENPC within one (1) year of hire.
· Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
· Additional languages preferred.
· Basic computer knowledge.
· Able to interpret basic ECG tracings.
