Odessa Regional Medical Center was founded in 1975 as Odessa Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Through the years, the hospital grew and evolved into a full-service healthcare facility and the name was changed to Odessa Regional Medical Center to reflect its larger campus and more comprehensive services. The hospital has 225 beds and has approximately 250 physicians on staff and has over 700 employees.
Today, ORMC offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including advanced diagnostic imaging technology, emergency care, innovative surgical procedures, maternity care, comprehensive cardiac services and general medical care.
About the Position:
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the student intern provides direct and indirect patient care in an environment conducive to learning. This program will assist the senior nursing student as they develop professional behaviors: critical thinking skills, prioritization of care, time management, documentation skills, and role socialization. The student intern’s clinical activities and competencies will be validated through return demonstration of learned skills. Participates in the department's performance improvement activities. Provides service to ages of neonate and adult. Other duties as assigned.
- Currently, enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing with a status as a third or fourth semester student in good standing.
- Eligible for graduation from said program.
- Certifications as indicated by the Steward Certification document.
- Basic ECG class within 6 months of hire.
