Job Description

Stroke / Chest Pain Center Coordinator provides leadership to all entities participating in the stroke and cardiac service lines to promote excellence in the care of the stroke patients and cardiac patients. The individual will serve as and: expert clinician and patient advocater. The Coordinator will practice in a collegial relationship with physicians, nursing peers, and other professionals to enhance patient care and the health care environment. The Coordinator will participate in organizational and community initiatives to improve the professional practice of nursing and quality of patient care and outcomes.


Regulatory Requirements:
* Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.
* Membership in Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care within 6 months of hire.
* Prefer Certified Cardiovascular Care Coordinator.
* Minimum of three (3) years of clinical practice, prefer direct care of the Stroke and/or ACS patient.
* Eight hours stroke education annually.
* Certified in NIHStroke Score Certification within 90 days of hire.
Language Skills:
* Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
* Additional languages preferred.
